How to make your dermal fillers last longer

How to make your dermal fillers last longer

Injectable products like Botox and dermal fillers are a great way to reverse common signs of aging. However, the effects of fillers and neurotoxins, while long-lasting, do eventually wear off as they are naturally degraded by the body.

Depending on the type of injectable used, the positive results of an injectable treatment can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years (see our dermal filler guide to compare the average longevity of various types of fillers).

Want to make your Botox or dermal filler treatment last longer? Here are 6 things you can do for maximum length results:

Did you know that overexposure to the sun’s UV rays can actually reverse the benefits of your injectable treatment? This is why we encourage all filler patients to practice sound sun protection, especially post-treatment. Maintain your results for longer by using a high quality broad-spectrum sunscreen, avoiding the outdoors during peak UV hours, and wearing a wide-brimmed hat.

The benefits of injectables (like many other cosmetic treatments) will last longer for individuals who properly take care of their skin. Patients who moisturize daily and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water will enhance the water-absorption effect of hyaluronic-based fillers, helping treated areas remain plump and wrinkle-free! There are a few products that were designed as an adjunct to toxins and fillers as well. Examples include Skin Better Lines, which helps maintain hyaluronic acid in areas and Revision Revox 7, which helps relax fine muscles to make your toxin last longer.

The food you eat can directly affect both the appearance and health of your skin. In terms of maximizing the results of your filler we encourage patients to stay away from processed and packaged foods, as well as limiting the amount of sugar in your diet. Increased inflammation caused by these foods in your body is translated to your overall skin health.

Some studies have shown that Botox efficacy is linked to zinc levels within the body. Also, many individuals tend to have a slight zinc deficiency. Regularly taking a zinc supplement after your Botox treatment may prolong the anti-aging effects.

Stress is a common factor of day-to-day life. Whether stemming from your career, relationship, or finances, stress can negatively affect the body in many ways. In terms of the skin, high stress levels release of cortisol and other hormones which accelerate the aging process and rapidly enhance common unwanted signs of aging. To extend the benefits of your injectable try to reduce unnecessary stress-inducers form your life while incorporating stress relief techniques like meditation or yoga into your day.

The best way to extend the life of your Botox or filler results is to regularly undergo “maintenance” treatments before your results wear off. Recurrent treatments are especially useful for Botox as they may actually train targeted muscles respond to the neurotoxin for longer periods of time.

Unfortunately, people that are avid workout-aholics may go through toxin and filler more quickly. There is no “fix” for this (and please don’t stop being active) but if you take precautions to not squint or scowl while working out (easier said than done) then you might not have as bad of an effect. One easy attempt is to wear hats or sunglasses while outside to avoid the strain of the bright sun.

Laser Duet is among the top ten providers of Juvederm and Botox in Michigan.

Dermal fillers are used to restore volume and fullness to the skin giving a face a youthful appearance. Juvederm® Injectable Gel is the “next generation” of dermal fillers. Created by the manufacturer of Botox®, Juvederm provides a smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.

The FDA has recently approved Juvederm Ultra XC for injection into the lips and perioral area for lip augmentation with results lasting up to one year.

Juvederm is currently the only approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has demonstrated its safety and effectiveness in patients of color.  Juvederm is developed using the proprietary Hylacross technology, a technologically advanced manufacturing process that results in a malleable  gel that flows easily into the skin and creates a smooth, natural look and feel. All other currently approved hyaluronic acid dermal fillers utilize a gel particle suspension formulation. These gel particles can be seen under magnification as opposed to the smooth formulation used in Juvederm. Juvederm is available in two formulations to allow for a tailored treatment to your unique needs. Juvederm Ultra provides versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds. Juvederm Ultra Plus is a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles.

There are multiple products within the Juvederm family that are designed for different uses:

  • Juvederm Ultra: The original Juvederm formula, Ultra is ideal for treating moderate lines and wrinkles, provides limited contouring and scar correction, and moderate lip enhancement. Results typically can last up to 9 months.
  • Juvederm Voluma: The first and only hyaluronic acid (HA) based dermal filler approved by the FDA to instantly increase the volume of the cheeks. Results last up to 2 years with fill correction.
  • Juvederm Volbella: A hyaluronic acid gel-based filler that uses patented Vycross technology to smooth lip lines and other fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Results last up to 12 months after treatment.
  • Juvederm Vollure: Juvederm’s newest filler designed to correct the most severe folds and wrinkles including the nasolabial folds. Results of Vollure can last up to 18 months.

Juvederm typically provides optimal results with a single treatment. Juvederm is the only hyaluronic acid  filler FDA approved to last up to one year.

As you age, the lines that form around your nose and mouth become more noticeable.  Juvederm is most commonly used to correct these different types of facial lines, including “parentheses lines” (nasolabial folds), smile lines, vertical lip lines, and marionette lines (lines formed near the chin). It can also help to define the lip border and give the appearance of a fuller lip.

We are all faced with the common effects of aging including gaining weight, sagging skin and facial wrinkles.  We are lucky to be in 2018 where there are numerous injectable treatments like Botox and dermal fillers available to instantly reverse the signs of aging; earning injectables the nickname “liquid facelift”.

These non-surgical painless treatments do an amazing transformation by providing volume and lift to targeted facial areas. They smooth out wrinkles and lines, augment the lips and fill out any hollow areas. Today at Laser Duet injectables have the power to provide complete facial rejuvenation, giving patients a more fresh and youthful appearance.

The availability of so many different types of injectables can be overwhelming. While reading a brief overview of the different types of injectables, please keep in mind that each injectable provides specific benefits which may or may not be appropriate for your individual goals. Our experienced physicians will tailor a custom anti-aging treatment for your unique needs. Contact us to schedule an appointment today.

Neuromuscular toxins are used for smoothing deep, persistent lines and wrinkles that develop over time. These injectables are derived from a family of neurotoxins that prevent nerve signals in muscles from contracting; they relax the facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles. The positive effects of treatment by neuromuscular-based injectables usually lasts between 3 and 6 months.  Botox is most widely recognized product in the neurotoxin family.

The SmartLipo Procedure: What to Expect from Smartlipo

The SmartLipo Procedure: What to Expect from Smartlipo

Although Smartlipo Triplex is extremely popular, the Smartlipo procedure itself is little understood. We’ve been getting a whole lot of inquiries into Smartlipo, especially Smartlipo Triplex (laser lipolysis) so I decided to write this article to shed light upon the different steps contained in the Smartlipo Triplex procedure.

Keep in mind that no matter what’s written in any article on Smartlipo, that you must receive a doctor’s consultation in order to get the most accurate information for your situation and according to your own unique bio-makeup. If you’re in the Detroit Metro area, we’re currently offering limited-time free consultations.

Smartlipo Overview

Smartlipo Triplex is a laser-assisted smartlipo procedure that removes fat from certain parts of your body using suction. Areas that can be treated include the stomach, back, thighs, underarms, and more.

During the liposuction procedure, small tubes called cannula are inserted through tiny incisions made into your skin. The laser-assisted Smartlipo procedure then uses low-energy waves to actually liquify the fat, which is then suctioned from your body through these tubes as your doctor moves them under your skin.

Smartlipo Procedure Planning: Consultation

The first and most important step is to see a doctor for a comprehensive consultation. In this consultation, the doctor will determine your particular goals and whether you’re a good candidate for liposuction. The doctor will also make a thorough examination of your medical history which includes identifying all health ailments you’ve ever suffered from. Next, your doctor will record all current and past medications you’ve been taking.

If your doctor sees that you’re fit for undergoing a Smartlipo procedure, a plan will then be determined on which areas of your body will be targeted and how. As a final step of your consultation, your doctor will set an appointment for the actual liposuction procedure.

The Smartlipo procedure will likely be done in the comfort of a doctor’s health or cosmetic clinic. Unless your doctor recommends, it’s rare that you’ll undergo a Smartlipo procedure in a hospital.

Smartlipo Procedure Step 1: Anesthesia

Once you come in during procedure day, your doctor will administer medications for your comfort before undergoing the liposuction procedure. You’ll receive one or more types of anesthesia including either local anesthesia (to numb only the parts of your body treated with Smartlipo), IV sedation, or general anesthesia (for general sedation). During the initial consultation, your own particular doctor will recommend to you the optimal choice(s) for sedation.

Smartlipo Procedure Step 2: Incisions

The next step of the Smartlipo procedure consists of your doctor performing small incision(s) into the targeted areas of your body to attempt removal of fatty deposits. You will not feel any of these incisions since you will be sedated with local anesthesia (and perhaps even general anesthesia).

Smartlipo Procedure Step 3: Melting Fat Through Laser

Once these small incisions are made, the doctor will then insert small tubes that emit energy waves in order to liquefy the fatty deposits in the targeted area of your body. This part of the procedure is unique only to laser-assisted liposuction procedures like the advanced Smartlipo Triplex system, the standard of liposuction on the market today.

Smartlipo Procedure Step 4: Removal of Fat

At this point in the Smartlipo procedure, thin hollow tubes, called cannula, are inserted by your doctor into the incisions made and the melted fat is suctioned out of your body using a surgical vacuum or a syringe attached to the end of the cannula.

Smartlipo Procedure Step 5: Coagulation

After the liquefied fat is removed by the cannula suction tubes, the doctor will then remove these tubes and replace them with a combination of two additional lasers into the incisions. These laser combinations function to coagulate the small blood vessels which help in decreasing skin bruising, melting any leftover fat, and (the most important function of all) tightening skin. All this helps to give much better and smoother results for the patient.

Smartlipo Procedure: Recovery

Especially when the liposuction procedure is done in an outpatient facility, recovery would usally be quick. You’ll be able to return to work within a couple days and to your normal activities within a week or two. After the procedure, you may experience the following symptoms anywhere from a few days to a few weeks:

  • Light bruising
  • Light swelling
  • Some soreness

Recovery will vary from person to person based on such factors as your unique bio-makeup, the amount of fat cells removed, and the area(s) treated. After the doctor completes your procedure, he or she will talk to you about the results you can expect and how best to maintain these results.

Smartlipo: Are Results Permanent?

The fat cells liquefied and removed from your body are permanent. So if you gain any weight after your procedure, it won’t usually concentrate in the particular area treated. Regardless, it’s extremely important to note that liposuction will not prevent you from gaining weight again. To keep your results and retain your new body shape, it is absolutely vital you follow a strict diet plan and exercise regimen. Smartlipo isn’t just about removing fat, it’s about helping transform your life to consist of healthy diet & exercise.

Botox Injections Frequently Asked Questions

Botox Injections Frequently Asked Questions

Botox injections are one of the most popular non-surgical, non-invasive techniques in the entire world. Millions of people have used Botox to fight wrinkles and kick aging in the gut, but you’ve probably asked yourself a lot of questions about it.

So we’ve created this Botox FAQ as a guide from our own professional experience at Laser Duet with hundreds if not thousands of Botox injections conducted for our patients here in the Dearborn & Detroit Metro area.

Botox – What Is It?

Botox injections are a widely used cosmetic treatment that reduces lines and minimizes wrinkles on your face. Botox works by actually relaxing the muscles to do this since overactive muscles (as a result of aging) are what cause wrinkle lines in the first place. Therefore, Botox soothes your muscles and helps them rest, allowing for less “unwanted expressions” so to say.

From a scientific point of view, Botox injections are one particular brand name of Botulinum injections. Botulinum is the active ingredient in Botox that’s also used in other brands such as Xeomin and Dysport (all do the same thing but are given different names).

Botox Injections – Is It Right For Me?

If you’re specifically looking to minimize your wrinkles and aging lines, whether it’s looking to eliminate existing ones or prevent any new ones from popping up, Botox can definitely help since it’s designed to do exactly that. Botox injections can be used for treating:

  • Wrinkles
  • Frown lines
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Marionette lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Reducing lines & aging signs in other areas such as lips, lower face, & neck

How Much Do Botox Injections Cost?

The total cost would vary on several factors such as what particular area you’re treating and how many units of Botox injection you’ll require. Clinics would either charge you per unit or per area. When it comes to area treated for instance, Botox injections for forehead lines may need 20-40 units and Botox injections to treat Crow’s feet on the other hand may need just 10 units.

The cost per unit may range anywhere from $7 to $20 per unit. The total cost may also be per area. Some clinics charge a flat rate per area no matter how much, or how little, is needed.

Make sure you’re careful though. If you see Botox really inexpensive, it may be a sign that the Botox injections are diluted with something else.

Laser Duet never ever uses any diluted substances with our Botox injections and indeed trust is a huge reason why we keep getting rave reviews all over the internet for our services.

Botox – Preparing Before Injections

Make sure you have a consultation appointment with a doctor or cosmetic health professional before you undergo any cosmetic procedures, whether Botox or otherwise. And if you’re interested in Botox specifically, make sure you know the following things from your doctor or professional when you conduct that consultation:

  • Go over all the details of the Botox procedure beforehand to ensure you understand everything
  • Review your medical history in detail
  • Understand how many Botox units will be injected and how much it will cost

Botox Injections – What to Expect During the Procedure

On the day you receive your Botox injections, the truth is that it’ll likely be like any other day! You can compare it best to visiting the family doctor to receive a shot. In all simplicity, your Botox professional will have you sit down and then will make a series of small injections into the area treated (which would be agreed on beforehand).

After that, you leave the office and resume your day in a normal way!

What Happens After Botox Injections

After you receive your injections, you’re able to leave the office and resume normal activities immediately. You may feel you have minor bruises or redness, but these would disappear after just an hour or two.

Now some doctors do recommend patients that receive Botox injections to avoid lying down for at least 4-5 hours afterwards. This is to prevent the Botox from accidentally leaking or spreading to other unintended areas of the face. It’s also common sense to avoid any strenuous activities for the rest of the day especially any movement involving bending down or straining your muscles. These recommendation are a preventative cautionary measure and are to help you be on the safe side. You should also avoid rubbing the parts of your face that got treated for at least a couple days after receiving your Botox injections.

Results from Botox

As mentioned in the first section, Botox injections will minimize the wrinkles and aging lines on your face to give you a re-invigorated and youthful look. But remember that nothing that lasts forever!

Depending on several factors like the brand, area treated, expertise of conducting the injections, and amount of Botox injected, your results will generally last anywhere from 3 to 6 months, where you’d simply get repeats of injections to restore the results.

As far as how quickly the Botox injections would show results, you’d definitely see the full effects of your Botox injections within a week or two after you’ve received your injections.

In addition, keep in mind that for deeper wrinkles, they’ll show improvement within those first couple weeks but they’ll also actually continue gradually improving over a longer period of time 😉

Botox Injections – Side Effects and Risks

If you receive your injections from an expert with experience, you shouldn’t have any side effects really. Some patients may experience some minor redness or slight bruising on the area treated directly after receiving the injections but this shouldn’t last more than a couple hours. And you can actually minimize this by putting pressure on the areas injected if there is slight bruising or swelling.

On rare occasions, some people may experience headaches right after injections. But again, these don’t happen often and even if they do, they would usually subside within 24 hours.

Now, if you receive injections from an inexperienced provider, you may undergo poor injections or worse, the incorrect dosage. If this happens, the Botox units may accidentally start spreading into other unintended areas of the face and may cause drooping eyelids, a broken or crooked smile, or things of this nature. If too much is injected, you’ll be left with a frozen ‘dear-in-headlights’ look. This is why it’s absolutely vital you go where the experience and credibility is.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): The Vampire Facelift

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): The Vampire Facelift

PRP Therapy Treatments: The Vampire Facelift

The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy for the face is an extremely well-known anti-aging and skin rejuvenation procedure also known as the “Vampire Facelift.” The reason PRP Therapy treatment for the face became known as the Vampire Facelift has to do with the fact that the treatment itself uses blood from a patient’s own body (it also has to do with the popularity of Vampires in American & Western culture!).

But the Vampire Facelift has also gained popularity because many celebrities and movie stars have underwent the treatment (such as famed Hollywood stars Kim Kardashian, Anna Friel, Bar Rafaeli, and others). Lots of patients also come to the Laser Duet clinic having heard about it in the media and they ask all sorts of questions about it, especially about its proven abilities to eliminate wrinkles and restore skin elasticity, tone, and firmness. But they also arrive at our clinic under mistaken impressions from either misinformation or misunderstandings about it!

Platelet Rich Plasma – PRP Therapy – The Vampire Facelift

To help clarify misinformation and misunderstandings, we’ve written this article to help shed light on the Vampire Facelift (also termed “PRP Therapy” in this article and elsewhere).

A Brief Intro to PRP Therapy Treatment

PRP Therapy was actually developed decades ago and was first used & validated for orthopedic surgery. It’s accumulated a huge body of research over the years proving its healing abilities for both cosmetic and other healing purposes. Specifically for the Vampire Facelift, PRP Therapy involves extracting blood from the patient and separating the desirable “Platelet Rich Plasma” from the blood in order to re-inject it into the face. PRP Therapy was not initially used for cosmetic purposes. At first, the extracted PRP would be re-injected into different areas around the body needing to be healed (without combining it with cosmetic fillers of course) and the injected areas would heal much more rapidly than normal.

About the actual “Platelet Rich Plasma”, it contains platelets which are tiny blood cells important in our body’s own clotting process. For instance, if you get a scab, a blood clot is formed and the platelets then release enzymes to enhance healing and implement tissue regeneration by attracting stem cells to repair the damaged area. Think of the yellowish-clear fluid that forms on a scab as this platelet rich plasma we’re talking about.

The same process is conducted for the Vampire Facelift. A patient’s own blood is extracted, usually the same amount as for a typical blood test. This blood is then inserted into a centrifuge machine which spins and extracts the plasma from the rest of the blood. This plasma which is rich in platelets (hence “Platelet Rich Plasma”) is then combined with certain cosmetic fillers, inserted into a syringe, and then re-injected into facial areas. The injections themselves are made strategically, in a certain pattern across the face and at particular points to enhance rapid skin healing and regeneration. It does this through increased collagen production and the release of fresh skin cells full of human growth factors. This results in an astonishingly younger, more natural, and more rejuvenated look.

The entire process can take just less than an hour, and the results gradually improve over the course of many months. The treatment is truly amazing and proven to work.

How the Vampire Facelift & PRP Therapy Treatment Works

The Vampire Facelift is a completely non-invasive procedure which, as mentioned above, uses small injections of PRP combined with cosmetic fillers into strategic areas of the face.

Obviously, you’ll be required to conduct an initial consultation with a doctor before the procedure is conducted so we can go through your medical history in detail. We also try to understand your particular goals, study your bio-makeup, and make sure the procedure is appropriate for you. After that, a date would be set for the procedure and, usually, any Vampire Facelift procedure would consist of the following steps:

1- Patient Preparation: The area treated on your face would be comprehensively cleaned and prepared.

2- Strategic Facial Markings: The doctor would mark particular areas on your face that would need to be freshened, lifted, or rejuvenated. This would be done with a special pencil that makes temporary markings (which are wiped off the face easily of course!).

3- Blood Extraction: The doctor would then draw blood, usually from your arm, in the typical way you’d get your blood extracted for a normal blood test.

4- Separating & Isolating the PRP: The extracted blood is then inserted into a centrifuge machine and spun for approximately ten minutes or so. The purpose of the centrifuge is to spin the blood at such a speed that the lighter PRP plasma would go one way, while the heavier blood would go the other way, thus separating the PRP we need from the rest of the blood platelets we don’t need.

5- Activation of the PRP: The separated PRP is then “activated” through a special process which stimulates the release of human growth factors which significantly increase collagen production (and release other human growth factors) once injected into the face.

6- The Application of Topical Anesthesia: If you request to have any sort of anesthesia, the doctor would then apply some numbing cream to your face and attempt to keep you as comfortable as possible during the rest of the procedure.

7- PRP- Filler Combination: The PRP is them combined with other cosmetic fillers and inserted into a special syringe.

8- PRP Injection: The doctor then injects the PRP combination into the strategic areas of your face.

9- Gradual but Incredible Results: The growth factors released into your face by the injected PRP will significantly stimulate the release of your skin’s stem cells. Basically, your skin is ‘tricked’ into thinking it’s been injured and that it should ‘heal’ itself with new, fresh, young, and awesome tissue. This process helps your skin to naturally release new collagen and create new blood vessels as well as new skin cells. Keep in mind results will be gradual and continue over the course of a few weeks to several months. You will definitely notice the transformation during that time!

How Long Does a PRP Therapy or Vampire Facelift Session Take?

As mentioned previously, PRP treatment generally takes less than an hour, usually anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour.

Who are Good Candidates for PRP Therapy & The Vampire Facelift?

PRP Therapy is treatment that comes from your own body. This means it’s extremely rare there would be any allergic reactions. And the combination of fillers can be put aside in case fillers don’t bode well for the patient (as is the case with the Vampire “Facial” which does not use fillers in its treatment). Therefore, PRP therapy can be conducted for just about anyone wanting to improve the appearance and quality of their skin.

But specifically, PRP therapy and the Vampire Facelift can treat many things such as:

  • Eliminate dark circles around the eyes
  • Do away with Crow’s Feet
  • Get rid of fine lines surrounding the mouth
  • Treat dull, rough or grayish skin texture and tone
  • Minimize acne scarring
  • Diminish sun damaged skin
  • And more!

Keep in mind there are certain exceptions as to who this procedure is NOT for. This includes those with:

    • Blood related conditions
    • Anemia
    • Cancers related to the bone
    • Cancers related to the blood

It must be mentioned that patients taking blood thinners or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) should stop their medication a couple weeks before treatment and for a few days after undergoing the procedure per the instructions of your doctor.

What Happens After PRP Therapy & The Vampire Facelift?

Generally, you’d need a little bit of recovery time after the Vampire Facelift or any other kind of PRP therapy. Usually after the first day of the procedure, you may experience some minimal redness or tenderness on your face (close to the feeling of a sunburn). Rarely, you may experience light bruising. The redness you’ll experience right after the procedure will usually disappear during the second and third days post-op. You may notice some swelling also, which usually subsides by the third day. Finally, your skin will feel dry for the first several days or so, which can be minimized by keeping your treated skin well-moisturized.

It must be mentioned that although you may experience these light symptoms, you won’t necessarily undergo any significant downtime from your normal schedule or routine. In fact, with some like makeup application we can apply for you in our clinic, you’ll likely be able to return to your normal schedule directly after your procedure.

Expectations & Results of PRP Therapy and the Vampire Facelift

You’ll start seeing noticeable results in just a few days after treatment and, within one to three months, you’ll see huge benefits. When it comes to individual experience, patients have reported results such as seeing fully refreshed skin they feel is significantly rejuvenated and more youthful.

How Long Does PRP Therapy and the Vampire Facelift Last?

The total duration of results depends on the particular individual as well as the experience of your doctors, but expect your results to last anywhere between a year or two.

How To Care For Your Skin After PRP Therapy

The most important things are skin hydration and sun protection! Make sure to implement daily skin care treatment applying good quality moisturizers for your face as well as several applications of sun screen a day (30 SPF or higher). This is absolutely critical especially if you live in sunny areas or undergo the PRP therapy/Vampire Facelift during summer.

How is the Vampire Facelift & PRP Therapy Different from Cosmetic Dermal Fillers?

There’s a huge difference between the two. Cosmetic fillers like Juvederm and Restalyne are made from substances that emulate what’s found  under our skin and these fillers act like gels which “fill” in lines, folds, and wrinkles in the face. Your body absorbs this gel usually within 6-8 months depending on the filler so there is a constant need & frequency to repeat treatment.

In contrast, PRP Therapy enhances your body’s own ability to create its own natural production of collagen and skin tissue which naturally helps your face become younger, healthier, firmer, and rejuvenated. Moreover, PRP Therapy and the Vampire Facelift can be used in areas that dermal fillers are considered not safe to use on. Lastly, PRP Therapy doesn’t target particular lines or wrinkles on your face. Rather, it improves the overall look and quality of your entire face.

SmartLipo – How Much Does it Cost?

SmartLipo – How Much Does it Cost?

When it comes to (minimally) surgical procedures like Smart Liposuction, sometimes it’s difficult to determine a fixed price. Patients undergoing the SmartLipo procedure can pay anywhere between $1,500 and $10,000. The wide range of price differences is especially due to many factors that vary from patient to patient such as a patient’s unique goals, their bio-makeup, particular area(s) being treated, and more. Therefore, it’s useful to know a bit about these cost and pricing factors before you consider visiting a Smart Lipo professional, and this is exactly what our guide seeks to help you do!

Smart Lipo: The Main Cost & Pricing Factors

In general, the following are the main cost & pricing factors when it comes to Smart Lipo liposuction procedures:

  • Geographic location where the procedure is performed
  • A patient’s unique goals
  • Number of areas being treated
  • Particular areas being treated
  • Provider costs

Smartlipo Cost Factor #1 – Geographic Location

A huge thing to take into consideration when analyzing Smartlipo pricing and cost factors is where you intend to undergo the procedure. Typically, the larger the city (like big cities such as Los Angeles and New York), the higher the overall price for cosmetic procedures such as Smartlipo. One would think it would be cheaper to undergo Smartlipo in big cities since the supply – the availability of qualified surgeons that offer Smartlipo treatments – would by much higher than in smaller cities. However, this is not the case since the cost of doing business in larger cities is higher, along with the demand for Smartlipo procedures. This means that if you want to control your costs, consider undergoing the procedure in the suburbs of large cities, such as in Dearborn, MI for those that reside somewhere in or around Detroit, MI.

Smartlipo Cost Factor #2 – A Patient’s Unique Goals

The number one reason why prices range so wildly among patients, especially for cosmetic procedures such as liposuction and other forms of fat removal procedures, has to do with the simple fact that the goals of each patient are almost never the same. In fact, many times these goals differ so wildly. Therefore, the difference between goals means a difference between the frequency a procedure would be used and the manner it would be used by the operating surgeon or health professional. For example, a patient seeking to achieve a near-perfect waistline emanating from a huge gut and love handles would likely pay more than a patient looking to slightly increase her thigh gap.

Smartlipo Cost Factor #3 – The Number of Area(s) Being Treated

An additional factor in pricing for Smartlipo is the specific areas being treated and how many areas in particular need to be treated in order to achieve the unique goals of the patients. This factor correlates with the previous factor, a patient’s unique goals, since the particular goals of a patient may require the addition of treating certain additional areas on the patient.

Smartlipo Cost Factor #4 – The Particular Area(s) Being Treated

The amount of fatty deposits that your provider is required to remove from your body (along with the number of areas being treated as explained directly above) will play significant roles in how much the final price of your smartlipo procedure will cost. Although there are many exceptions, as a (semi) general rule, you can say that the more fat is removed from your body, the higher the final cost will be. Do keep in mind that many doctors, such as our immensely skilled and reputable surgeon at the Laser Duet Clinic, do give discounts for having two or more areas undergoing treatment at once.

Smartlipo Cost Factor #5 – Clinic and other Miscellaneous Costs

The particular facility where you’ll undergo the Smart Lipo procedure would generally charge fees that can run anywhere between a few hundred dollars to $2,000 and upwards. You may also need to have some prescriptions filled to take certain medicine after and maybe even before the procedure. Here, the cost would likely depend on your insurance provider. Moreover, you should prepare yourself for some miscellaneous costs such as wearing compression garments as well as taking sick days off from work, which may or may not have you incur expenses on your end. Thus, especially if you’re trying to stick on a budget, make sure you take all these clinic and miscellaneous costs into consideration.

Botox – Alchemy’s Miracle Cosmetic Drug

Botox – Alchemy’s Miracle Cosmetic Drug

Botox, an ever so-misunderstood by-product of Hollywood actresses, a mirage of an unlimited, ageless age, able to do so much yet is the product of so much scrutiny and accusations. Quite simply, when it comes to Botox, it’s among the most mis-understood drug of our times. Therefore, I’ve written this report on behalf of the Laser Duet Cosmetic team simply because, when it comes to Botox, our patients misunderstand the compound way too much. I aim to clarify exactly what Botox is and end the misunderstanding once and for all!

What is Botox?

Botox is actually the medical brand name of a toxin protein derived from a bacterium called clostridium botulinum. Botox is poisonous in large amounts, however, scientists found a way to use Botox advantageously over the years and Botox is now used in a variety of beneficial ways.

Botox, in fact, is right now the only FDA-approved treatment that improves the look of both crow’s feet as well as moderate-to-severe frown lines. But it can do much more than that. Botox is also used to treat chronic migraines believe it or not. It’s also known for its cosmetic properties such as minimizing facial wrinkles and anti-aging lines. Non-cosmetic properties of Botox include treating severe non-wrinkle related muscle spasms, overactive bladders, and excessive sweating.

Botox for Cosmetics – Backed by Science

Botox, as related to the cosmetic industry, is among the most comprehensively researched cosmetic treatments in the entire world. It’s also approved for use by the governments of over 80 nations around the globe. Basically, Botox has a long record of established utilization that doctors, governments, and health specialists know and fully trust. When it comes to the amount of research conducted, Botox for cosmetic purposes has been evaluated and experimented upon in over 415 studies published across the most reputable scientific & medical journals around the world.

Botox – Sourced from Nature

As discussed in the firs section, Botox is comprised of highly decontaminated botulinum toxin protein, and this protein is actually sourced from a bacterium found in nature – Clostridium botulinum. Now since the formulations, mixtures, potencies, and approved dosages would vary across a wide variety of botulinum toxin (‘botox’) products, this means that you cannot directly replace one brand of Botox with another. Regardless though, the main compound of Botox found across any Botox cosmetic product or brand is one and the same – naturally derived Clostridium botulinum.

How Does Botox Work?

feasfefesgfsgfesdgdesBOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

In all the possible treatments and benefits of Botox, in all the ways that it’s used for, Botox works in one simple way – Botox temporarily reduces muscle activity by targeting muscle contractions. Smart Lipo – Its Many Advantages

Smart Lipo – Its Many Advantages

Smart Lipo its Powerful Advantages

Just Another “Smart Lipo” Week at the Office!

We had a great week in the office and saw lots of new patients interested in Liposuction, specifically our SmartLipo™ Triplex laser liposuction option. This probably has to do with the oncoming spring season and how everyone want’s to look good in Detroit! Anyways, recently, I did have one patient ask about the difference between SmartLipo™ and LipoLite™ so after explaining to them the difference, I realized that I spent most of the time pinpointing the awesome advantages that the Smart Lipo Triplex system has over any other liposuction or weight loss system! As a result, I thought to myself why not share these ideas for this week’s blog especially since I want my patients to learn about all the cosmetic technology out there, especially about Smart Lipo,  a system that revolutinized liposuction and has set the standard in minimally-invasive weight loss.

Smart Lipo – What does it do?

The SmartLipo Triplex laser liposuction machine is without a doubt the most advanced and the most powerful minimally-invasive weight-loss system on the market today. This is based on many factors. For one, this is true from a safety perspective. It’s also true from a performance perspective since it enables a cosmetic clinic and its operating doctors & health professionals to use 3 differently-performing lasers in one machine. These 3 include:

1140nm laser. This laser specifically aims to target fatty cells and melts them easier than in any other laser wavelength.

1060nm and 1020nm. These laser wavelengths are combined together to coagulate blood vessels, reduce areas of bruising, and tightens already-loose skin.

In addition to safety and power, the Smart Lipo Triplex system is also extremely powerful. Here, I mean that it offers an industry unprecedented 46 watts of power, allowing the clinic doctor to utilize an astoundingly huge amount of energy (without blowing you to bits of course ;). This  tremendous energy is then converted by the Smart Lipo Triplex system into heat, which zaps right through your fat like a hote knife through ice cream, all the while maintaining a ‘tightening’ effect on your skin to eliminate any chances of loose or dangling skin after your far is removed.

Smart Lipo – Safety First

Knowing now what kind of huge power the Smartlipo system now wields, you may start fearing for your life (it’s a joke). But not to worry! Smartlipo has strong safety features, two of which are incredibly unique and completely new on the market (forcing our engineering team to fill out long and annoying patent forms). Firstly, the Smartlipo Triplex system comes with a laser ‘wand’ that mels the far and heats throughout the target area, but this ‘wand’ comes with a special motion sensor built right inside the device! This means that, if the laser wand is not moving, then the laser will not fire. This is extremely useful (besides for obvious reasons). it eliminates the chance of ‘dents’ being created across your skin, and it also helps to create a much more smoothing contoured look to your body. Secondly,  the wand also has a thermometer built right into the tip of the device (no, you cant take the temperature of your baby daughter while she has a fever). While the device heats up your skin, we obviously don’t want the machine wand to get overheated and burn your skin! Therefore, Smart Lipo staff has the system set to automatically shut down the firing of lasers when the temperature of the wand sensor exceeds 46 degrees Celsius. This 46 degree Celsius number was chosen since it’s the ‘magic temperature’ for heating the dermis (the outer layer of your skin). No other laser lipo machine has such safety advantages.

Smart Lipo – Versatility

The Smartlipo Triplex System is extremely versatile. As already shown, it has strong safety features that gives much-needed peace of mind to the operating surgeon as well as the patient. Moreover, the triplex system has three differing lasers combined into one easy-to-use platform. This is unprecedented in the industry so no other machine has it. And this means that a cosmetic clinic can use the Smartlipo device for numerous types of liposuction.

If you have questions about the Smart Lipo Laser Triplex System or are interested in undergoing the procedure, please contact the Laser Duet clinic for a FREE consultation with one of our doctors at 313-846-0002
